The Pierre Courcoulée is located south of the hamlet of Les Ventes, near Evreux in the Eure department in Normandy in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).
The dolmen consists of a huge capstone made of pebble-like pudding stone that rests on four supports. The capstone measures around 4.0 × 2.5 meters and is well over a meter thick. The bearing stones protrude 0.3 to 0.5 m from the ground.
