Pierre Antoine François Fecchino (also under the name Fechino ; born May 31, 1907 in Antibes , France , † January 22, 1987 in Antibes, France) was a French football player .

Career

Fecchino, both in midfield as the storm was used, began playing football in 1919 in children at a club called YES Antibes; from there he moved in 1920 to the youth of city rivals Olympique Antibes . In 1929 the 174 centimeter tall footballer went to AS Cannes as an amateur player and reached the national cup final in 1932 ; while he prepared with a cross the only goal of the day that captain Louis Clerc scored and thus achieved the title win.

In the same year, Cannes was accepted into the newly founded Division 1 , which was newly created as the top French division and introduced professional football in France. Fecchino was one of the top scorers in the new league, scoring 14 goals in 16 games and taking second place in the top scorer list; in addition, his team made it into the final for the championship. In the final, he scored the intermittent 1: 2 connection goal, but could not avert a 3: 4 defeat of his team against Olympique Lille . In the following season he remained a successful striker with ten goals. In 1934 he left Cannes after five years and went back to his ex-club, now renamed FC Antibes, which had also received the right to play in the top division.

At Antibes he was not as successful as a goalscorer as in his first professional years, but still got a permanent place and held the class four times in a row with the club. In 1938, after six years, he said goodbye to the first division, which he left after 137 games and 35 goals to move to the second division club OGC Nice . There he was able to build on his successes as a goalscorer and scored ten goals in the course of the 1938/39 season. The outbreak of war in 1939 meant the end of regular gaming, which was the end of his career for Fecchino.
