Pierre Damien Habumuremyi (born February 21, 1961 in Ruhondo , Rwanda-Urundi ) is a Rwandan politician who was Prime Minister of Rwanda from October 7, 2011 to July 24, 2014. He was previously Minister of Education from May 2011 to October 2011. His successor was Anastase Murekezi .

Life

After serving as executive secretary of the National Electoral Commission, he was elected on May 11, 2008 as one of the nine Rwandan representatives to the East African Legislative Assembly . Charles Munyaneza then succeeded him in July 2008 as executive secretary of the National Electoral Commission. He was then appointed to the Rwandan government as Minister of Education to succeed Charles Murigande in May 2011.
