Pierre Le Muet
Pierre Le Muet (born October 7, 1591 in Dijon , † September 28, 1669 in Paris ) was a French architect under several absolutist kings such as Louis XIV and built several noble palaces .
Life
Pierre Le Muet built the Val-de-Grâce hospital with François Mansart and designed the plans for the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires basilica in Paris. He was also the architect of the castles Tanlay in Burgundy , Luynes on the Loire , Laigle in Normandy and Beauvilliers .
He translated Andrea Palladio (1626) and Giacomo Barozzi da Vignola (1632), as well as wrote the book Manière de bâtir pour toutes sortes de personnes .
