Pierre Piccarde
Pierre Piccarde (born July 23, 1979 in Basel ) is a Swiss singer , songwriter and music producer specializing in funk , house and pop .
Life
Piccarde started his musical career in the late 1990s as a singer in the Bernese formation Deep Soldiers . With his second formation Awooka from Basel he was able to draw further attention to himself from 2001 with his live singing to house music in various discos . At the same time, he was still working as a DJ and, among other things, was resident DJ in the well-known Basel Atlan-tis Club . He later began to sing along with DJs from all over the world as a live vocalist . Through the collaboration with the then popular soulful label Chillifunk Records from London, he came to various appearances, especially in England. Among other things, he was able to work with Dr. Bob Jones or Gilles Peterson perform.
In 2008 he opened his own recording studio in Basel, in which he produced his first solo album, Signification , in order to release it under his own label Marylin Musique in 2010. The album sold worldwide and was particularly well received in the South African house scene.
In 2012 he joined the Swiss band Funky Delicious and played various concerts under their name. Since 2014 he has appeared again as a solo performer under his own name. He is still musically accompanied by the members of Funky Delicious at live concerts .
