Pierre Tamba

Pierre Biram Tamba (born February 6, 1957 ) is a Gambian politician and diplomat. He was Minister for Municipalities and Land Administration ( English Minister of Local Government and Lands ) of the West African country Gambia .

Life

Tamba grew up as the son of Pa Alphonse Tamba together with the later President Yahya Jammeh and Susan Waffa-Ogoo . He attended the Gambia High School from 1971 to 1973 and was at the Laurinburg Institute (United States) from 1978 to 1979 . From 1984 to 1994 he attended Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte (United States).

After Tamba was employed in the public sector in Banjul, he worked in the private sector in the United States in Charlotte in 1979 . In 2006 he returned to Gambia and became managing director of KGI International KSMD. In 2007 Tamba was appointed Gambian ambassador to Cuba .

4 February 2010 Tamba was by President Yahya Jammeh to the Cabinet as Minister of municipalities and administrative ( English Minister of Local Government and Lands ) appointed as successor to Ismaila Sambou . He was sworn in on February 10th.
