René of Lorraine in the manuscript of the Nancéide

Pierre de Blarru , Latinized Petrus de Blaro Rivo (born April 3, 1437 in Paris , † November 23, 1510 in Saint-Dié ), was a canon of St. Dié and a humanist . There he belonged to the same learned circle as Matthias Ringmann and Martin Waldseemüller .

His most important work is the Latin epic "Liber Nancéidos" (French: "Nancéide"), printed posthumously in 1518, which Blarru wrote around 1500 to celebrate the victory of Duke René II of Lorraine over Charles the Bold of Burgundy. In Nancy (Musée Lorrain) there is an illustrated manuscript of the work from around 1500 as the only tradition before printing.
