The Pigeon Detectives ([ ðə 'pɪdʒɪn dɪ'tektɪvz ], English for The Pigeon Detectives ) is a five-member indie band from Leeds , England, founded in 2002 .

The band was discovered in early 2006 by Steve Lamacq (BBC Radio 1). Also in 2006, they became known to a wider audience thanks to tours supporting Dirty Pretty Things and the Kaiser Chiefs . They have now found their home on Dance to the Radio, the label of ¡Forward Russia! Mastermind Whiskas. The Pigeon Detectives EP was released on January 19, 2007 in Germany. Her first album Wait for Me was released on June 1, 2007, followed by the album Emergency, which was released on May 26, 2008. On April 4, 2011 the band released their third album Up, Guards and at 'Em! .
style
There are musical parallels to other British indie rock bands such as The Rakes or The Rifles . In the music of the Pigeon Detectives, however, more influence than in the two mentioned sound elements from the history of British indie and rock music. Occasionally melody and harmony sequences are used that are reminiscent of rock 'n' roll of the 1950s.
