The Pigeon Lake is a pond in Collinwood Township in Minnesota ( USA ).

It is located on Minnesota State Route 15 . To the northeast of it is a wetland with several ponds. Public access to the lake is on the south bank of the lake. There is also an observation deck. A parking lot with a view is on State Route 15.

It is an elongated lake about 2 km long and 500 m wide and 301  acres in area. There are 3 small islands in it. The lake is very shallow, so there is strong growth of algae in summer .

Cormorants nest on the islands . Also, pelicans and herons can be found. This breeding area was already known in the 1960s and was declared an Important Bird Area . Because of the dense occurrence of birds, there is hardly any vegetation on the islands, only a few elms remain. The pelicans only nest on the ground, the cormorants on the ground and the trees, and the herons only on the trees.

Politicians John Kline and Collin Peterson supported efforts to manage the size of the bird populations as fishermen and athletes feel compromised while bird watching has already become a tourist factor.
