Pigloo is a German - French music project that was very successful in the German and French charts with the song Le Papa Pingouin, written in 1980 by Ralph Siegel , Pierre Delanoë , Bernd Opinion and Jean Paul Cara . The duo Sophie & Magaly entered the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest for Luxembourg with the original version and thus finished 9th.

When it was re-recorded in 2006, the original authors were no longer involved as producers. A music video was produced about a penguin father and his child, which was so successful that the song took number 1 on the French charts and stayed there for 3 weeks. In total, the single stayed in the French charts for 27 weeks.

In February 2007, due to the great success of the music video on Super RTL (in the program Toggo TV) , the German version rose to number 6 in the German charts.

The French version is sung by Heidi , the German version by Sara and Kerstin .

More songs by Pigloo that could be placed as early as the French hit parade, were the cover of Plastic Bertrand -Hits Ça plane pour moi (le twist) , Le ragga of pingouins (a cover of ducks dance ) and Moi, j'aime skier ! (a cover version of the Village People song YMCA ).

The trademark of the project, which was shaped by 3Dance, are their music videos, in which only animated penguins appear.
