Reinhard Pappenberger (born June 30, 1958 in Grafenwöhr ) is auxiliary bishop in the diocese of Regensburg .

Life

Pappenberger attended secondary school in Weiden and then made in 1979 at the late bloomers School St. Joseph in Fockenfeld his high school . After studying Catholic theology and philosophy at the University of Regensburg , Pappenberger received the sacrament of ordination from Bishop Manfred Müller on June 29, 1985 in the Regensburg Dominican Church of St. Blasius . He then was from 1985 to 1988 chaplain in the parish of Sankt Marien in Sulzbach-Rosenberg and from 1988 to 1990 in the parish of Sankt Josef in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate. From 1990 to 1995 he was the diocesan president of the Catholic Workers' Movement and Christian Youth Workers and, at the same time, until 2005 parish vicar of the parish of St. Johannes in Langenerling . Since 1995 he has been active in the Episcopal Ordinariate of the Diocese of Regensburg and was appointed Ordinariate Council in 1996. His tasks there included, among other things, the management of the liturgy and church music , marriage and family, and youth and association pastoral care . At times he was also a clerical adviser to the diocesan council and episcopal representative of the diocesan committee of clubs and associations. In 2003 he was appointed to the cathedral chapter of the diocese as cathedral chapter .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on February 6, 2007 titular bishop of Aptuca and auxiliary bishop in Regensburg. He received his episcopal ordination on March 25, 2007 by Bishop Gerhard Ludwig Müller in the High Cathedral of St. Peter in Regensburg . As co-consecrators looked Bishop Wilhelm Schraml of Passau, and the Bishop of Pilsen (Czech Republic), František Radkovský .

In the German Bishops' Conference , Reinhard Pappenberger is a member of the Liturgy Commission , the Universal Church Commission and its sub-commission for missionary issues (especially MISSIO) and the Commission for Marriage and Family .
