Franz Weinhart

Franz Weinhart (also Franz Weinhard ; * 1617 in Innsbruck ; † June 27, 1686 ) was auxiliary bishop in Regensburg .

He was the son of the doctor Paul Weinhart and his wife Anna Burgkhlehner, his older brother was the lawyer and court official Ignaz Weinhart . There was a strong religious atmosphere at home.

The ordination for the diocese Brixen received Franz Weinhart 1648. On February 26, 1663 he became titular bishop of Lydda and appointed auxiliary bishop in Regensburg. He was ordained bishop on April 8, 1663, by the Archbishop of Salzburg , Guidobald von Thun . During the tenure of Regensburg Bishop Adam Lorenz von Toerring-Stein 1663–1666, the responsibility for the administration and pastoral care of the diocese lay with Auxiliary Bishop Franz Weinhart.
