Adam Lorenz von Toerring-Stein (born August 13, 1614 in Stein an der Traun , † August 16, 1666 in Pertenstein ) from the Toerring family was Bishop of Regensburg from 1663 to 1666.

biography

Adam Lorenz Count of Toerring-Stein was ordained a priest in 1639. That of his uncle, the Bishop of Regensburg Albert IV. , Patronized Adam Lorenz was in Regensburg (1643-1663) and Salzburg provost before becoming in 1663 the bishop of Regensburg. Like his uncle, Bishop Adam Lorenz took into account the tense financial situation of the Regensburg Monastery after the Thirty Years' War . The bishop spent a large part of his three-year term in office at his Pertenstein Castle , where he devoted himself to hunting. During this time, Auxiliary Bishop Franz Weinhard was responsible for the administration and pastoral care of the diocese . Like his family, he was buried in Baumburg Monastery and his heart in Regensburg Cathedral .

The prince-bishop's coat of arms bears the coat of arms of the diocese of Regensburg as the shield head. The main shield is square with the coat of arms of the Törring and for Seefeld there are three black alarm clocks on a golden background. For Mödling, the heart label shows silver pliers at an angle on a red background.
