Theodoric von Abensberg
Theodorich von Abensberg , also Dietrich and Theodorich († November 5, 1383 ) was the 36th Bishop of Regensburg and Prince-Bishop of the Regensburg Monastery from 1381 to 1383.
Theodorich von Abensberg was the son of Count Ulrich III. from the Counts of Abensberg . He appears after 1360 as pastor of Gaubitsch . He managed to raise the financial means to release various pledges, including Donaustauf . In 1382 he installed Abbot Ruger von Weltenburg in the convent , which was now in a neglected state.
He also used private assets to redeem Stauf Castle and therefore refused to bequeath Stauf Castle to the cathedral chapter or the bishopric without concessions. The canons therefore refused to visit him on his deathbed and to hold a funeral service for him. His grave slab was originally located behind the high altar in Regensburg Cathedral .
