Albert III von Stauffenberg († July 10, 1421 ) was the 38th Bishop of Regensburg and Prince-Bishop of the Regensburg Monastery from 1409 to 1421.

Bishop Albert III. von Stauffenberg saw the Pope Alexander V elected by the Council of Pisa and his successor, John XXIII, elected in 1409 . for the rightful head of the church. After his election, he also got his recognition from Alexander V, but he had to meet Pope Gregory XII, who was favored by King Ruprecht . recognize. Around 1410 he had the cathedral cloister rebuilt in Regensburg Cathedral . Albert III stands for a thrifty court management, it was possible to pay off debts and buy back lost possessions for the bishopric. In the feud between the two Bavarian dukes Heinrich von Landshut and Ludwig von Ingolstadt , he held Landshut in the hope of territorial gains for the bishopric through the rule of Hohenburg im Nordgau. The Knight League, allied with Ludwig, devastated the country in 1416.
