František Radkovský

František Radkovský (born October 3, 1939 in Třešť ) is a Czech clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Pilsen .

Life

From 1957 to 1962 he studied mathematical statistics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague , which he obtained with a doctorate in C.Sc. completed. After completing his military service in a Slovak garrison, Radkovský worked from 1964, first as a statistician at the National Research Institute of the Glass Industry and later at the Pedagogical Institute of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences , where he dealt with the reform of mathematics teaching in schools.

From 1966 Radkovský studied at the theological faculty in Litoměřice . František Radkovský was ordained a priest on June 27, 1970 and was pastor in Marienbad and later in Franzensbad . Twenty years later, on 17 March 1990 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Aggar and auxiliary bishop in Prague . The Archbishop of Prague František Tomášek donated him the episcopal ordination on April 7, 1990. Co- consecrators were the Prague Auxiliary Bishops Jan Lebeda and Antonín Liška .

Since May 31, 1993 he was the first bishop of the newly established diocese of Pilsen on the same date. Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on February 12, 2016.
