The Pik Kaschkar ( Russian Пик Кашка , also Кошкар or Кочкар-баши) is a mountain in the Chinese part of the Tian Shan not far from the border with Kyrgyzstan .

location

The 6,435  m high Kaschkar peak is 16.6 km south of the Dschengisch Tschokusu ( Pobeda peak ) in the Kakschaaltoo mountain range . The Pik Kaschkar forms an independent massif. A 4900  m high saddle forms the reference saddle to the 7439  m high Dschengisch Tschokusu. The southwest flank of the glaciated Pik Kaschkar is drained via the Temirsu glacier . The glaciers on the northeast and east flanks flow towards the western Tschong-Terek glacier .
