The Pilon Peak is a striking, 1,880 m high mountain in the Concord Mountains of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises about 3 km northeast of Mount Works on the western flank of the Horne Glacier in the Everett Range .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1970 after Commander Jerome R. Pilon of the US Navy , an officer in various functions in the VXE-6 squadron between 1967 and 1970, who was also a member of the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names from 1976 to 1978.
