Pinnacle Systems, Inc. [ 'pɪnəkl …] is a specialist in video editing software such as Pinnacle Studio and hardware with headquarters in Mountain View , California . The European headquarters was in Braunschweig until the end of 2008 , but was closed with the sale of the TV card division to Hauppauge .
In 1997, the digital video division of the German competitor miro was taken over.
Pinnacle Systems was acquired by Avid Technology in August 2005 . Since the takeover, only the products for home use have been sold under the name Pinnacle.
For some time, Pinnacle also sold Roku Internet radios under its own name, for example the "Pinnacle SoundBridge" and the "Pinnacle SoundBridge Home Music". The more expensive "SoundBridge" has, among other things, an RJ45 connection and a larger display than the "SoundBridge Home Music", which is only equipped with WLAN .
In addition, Pinnacle Systems sold a product family under the name PCTV for receiving television on the computer, including the option of digital recording and time shifting .
