Pino D'Angiò

Pino D'Angiò (born August 14, 1952 in Pompei ; real name Giuseppe Chierchia ) is an Italian musician . He is one of the most successful interpreters of the Italo Disco .

life and work

Pino D'Angiò published the title È libera scusi? . The title was able to gain popularity in Italy. He published his best-known title in 1980. Ma quale idea is one of the most successful titles in Italo Disco. The title was sold around two and a half million times in Italy alone. The title was based on the 1979 published title Rhythm Talk by singer Jocko and Ain't No Stoppin 'Us Now by the group McFadden & Whitehead. Ma quale idea was also published in French and Spanish. Cover versions of the title were made by the groups Flaminio Maphia Ma quale idea and Madison Avenue Don't Call Me Babyreleased. Thomas Anders used the same bass motif for the title King of Love .

Although Pino D'Angiò released other albums and singles, none of the following titles could achieve such success as Ma quale idea . In 1981 and 1982 he took part in the Italian music competition Festivalbar with moderate success.

Together with Bruno Sanchioni, he founded the trance project Age of Love in 1990 , which produced one of the first trance hits with the title of the same name.

He then worked as a radio presenter for the Italian broadcaster RAI and worked as an actor in various plays.
