Luís Carlos de Oliveira Preto (born September 17, 1965 in Bragança Paulista , São Paulo ), better known under the pseudonym Pintado , is a former Brazilian soccer player who acted both in midfield and in attack , and after his active career as Football coach began.

career

Pintado began his career at his hometown club CA Bragantino , with whom he won the São Paulo State Championship in 1990 (for the only time in the club's history) . He also played at the beginning of his career at neighboring São Paulo FC , with whom he won the national championship in 1985 and later again in 1992. The more important successes were the double victory in the Copa Libertadores ( 1992 and 1993 ) and the success in the 1992 World Cup , when FC Barcelona were defeated 2-1.

In 1993 Pintado moved to Mexico for the Cruz Azul CD , with which he won the cup competition of the 1996/97 season. In the meantime, he also played on loan for FC Santos .

In 1997 Pintado returned to his homeland, where he worked for a few months at Atlético Mineiro , and then moved again abroad to play for several months for the Japanese club Cerezo Osaka .

In 1998 he returned permanently to Brazil , where he was still active for several clubs and has also worked as a coach since 2004. In this capacity, he came back twice to Mexico, where he coached Club León in 2009/10 and was assistant coach at his former club Cruz Azul in the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons.
