Pirro Çako

Pirro Çako (born November 19, 1965 in Tirana , Albania ) is an Albanian singer and composer .

Life

Çako comes from a family of musicians. His father Gaqo Çako was a tenor , his mother Luiza Çako was a soprano . Pirro Çako attended the University of the Arts Tirana and later the École Normale de Musique de Paris for film music. In 1988 Parashqevi Simaku won the Festivali i Këngës with the song E duam lumturinë (We love happiness) composed by him . He later rewrote it as a nursery rhyme. His duet Për një çast më ndali zemra (Briefly my heart stopped) , which he sang with Rovena Dilo , is one of the most famous songs he has sung. In 2001 he performed with it at Kënga Magjike , a well-known festival. Cako composed another song for Rovena Dilo, which  was called AntiNostradamus and with which she performed at the Festivali i Këngës in 2001.  

Together with the components Ardit Gjebrea he wrote the songs Një tjetër jetë (Another life) and Nuk mundem pa ty (I can't be without you) in 2009 . The latter was performed by Juliana Pasha at the Festivali i Këngës 2009. As the winner of the festival, she represented Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 . There she reached 15th place. The song was translated into English for the Eurovision Song Contest. He performed the song Një tjetër jetë himself at the Festivali i Këngës and thus achieved fourth place.

Personal

Çako was married to Inva Mula . The two have a son, Anthony, who was born in an apartment in Paris. The two went their separate ways in 2007, followed by a divorce in 2010 after 23 years of marriage.

Albums

Çako released his first album in 2004: Herët a vonë (Sooner or Later) . The album contains 15 songs, including duets with Rovena Dilo, Mariza Ikonomi, Redon Makashi and his then wife Mula. Another album followed in 2006, Mos më krahaso (Don't compare me) . One title was Letër Dashurie (love letter) .
