Pishchane ( Ukrainian Піщане ; Russian Песчаное Pestschanoje ) is a village in the Ukrainian Sumy Oblast with about 1700 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in writing in the second half of the 17th century, belongs administratively to the municipality of Sumy and is the center of the district council of the same name , to which the villages Verkhnye Pishshane ( Верхнє Піщане , ⊙ ) with about 800 inhabitants, Schytejske ( Житейське , ⊙ ) with about 50 inhabitants, Sahirske ( Загірське , ⊙ ) with about 50 inhabitants, Kyryjakiwschtschyna ( Кирияківщина , ⊙ ) with about 15 inhabitants and Trochymenkowe ( Трохименкове , ⊙ ) with about 40 inhabitants.
The village is located on the right bank of the Oleschnja ( Олешня ), an approximately 40 km long right tributary of the Psel , 10 km north of the city from the municipality and oblast center of Sumy .
The N 07 road runs west of the village .
