Pit Budde (born March 14, 1952 in Lünen ) is a German musician and author.

history

Growing up in the Ruhr area, Pit Budde played during the folk revival in the group "Barleycorn", the guitar duo "Ragged Strings", and then in the folk-rock band "Manderley". In 1979 he was a founding member of the political rock group " Cochise ", which toured Germany until 1988. In addition, he worked as a studio musician and in cross-disciplinary art projects. After traveling through the USA and Canada, Budde composed instrumental music inspired by natural sounds.

From the beginning of the 1990s he worked with musicians from the migrant scene in Germany, Tanzania , Ethiopia and Zambia , founded the world beat band “Radio Ethiopia”, produced CDs with ethnic music from Africa and world music radio broadcasts for WDR and HR . Since 1997 Pit Budde has been a member of the group " Karibuni ", which founded the genre of "world music for children" in Germany. Budde is the author of numerous educational books and specialist articles as well as a specialist in Ethiopian music.
