The motorway triangle Leer (abbreviation: AD Leer ; short form: Dreieck Leer ) is a motorway triangle in Lower Saxony in southern East Frisia . It connects the federal highway 28 ( Leer  - Delmenhorst ) with the federal highway 31 ( Emden  - Oberhausen ).

geography

The triangle lies in the urban area of Leer in the district of the same name . The surrounding communities are Moormerland and Brinkum . The closest districts are Siebenbergen, Eisinghausen and Logaerfeld, all in the Leeraner area. It is located about 20 km southeast of Emden , about 65 km north of Meppen and about 50 km northwest of Oldenburg .

Not far from the motorway triangle is the navigable part of the Ems , which the A 31 crosses through a tunnel .

The Leer Autobahn triangle has junction number 1 on the A 28 and number 9 on the A 31.

Design and state of development

Both motorways have four lanes. All connecting ramps are single-lane.

The triangle was laid out as a left-handed trumpet.

The traffic routing in the motorway triangle is a TOTSO variant. Drivers coming from Oberhausen have to use a flyover to cross the motorway in order to stay on the A 31 in the direction of Emden . The two lanes from Oberhausen become the A 28 and lead in the direction of Oldenburg.

Traffic volume

The triangle is used by around 38,000 vehicles every day.
