The motorway triangle Oldenburg-West (abbreviation: AD Oldenburg-West ; short form: Dreieck Oldenburg-West ) is a motorway triangle in Lower Saxony in the north-west metropolitan region . It connects the federal freeway 28 ( Leer - Delmenhorst ) with the federal freeway 293 (western Oldenburger Autobahnring) .
geography
The motorway triangle is in the city of Oldenburg . The closest districts are Wechloy, Dietrichsfeld, Ziegelhof, Ehnern and Haarentor. It is located about 2 km west of Oldenburg city center, about 50 km east of Leer and about 40 km south of Wilhelmshaven .
The Neue Friedhof Oldenburg is directly adjacent to the northeastern part of the triangle.
The Oldenburg-West motorway triangle has junction number 11 on the A 28 and also on the A 293.
Design and state of development
Both the A 28 and the A 293 have four lanes, the connecting ramps are single lane.
Before the four-lane expansion of the autobahns, the two-lane federal highways 69 from Wilhelmshaven to Diepholz and 75 from Leer to Bremen already ran on their routes . At the place of today's motorway triangle Oldenburg-West there was a simple junction of the B 75 into the B 69, the course of which the B 75 divided to the intersection of Cloppenburger Straße in the south of Oldenburg (today: junction Oldenburg-Kreyenbrück of the AB 28).
The triangle was designed as a right-handed trumpet.
A special feature of the design is that, similar to the Leer triangle , the A 293 merges directly into the southern part of the A 28 and the western A 28 is connected. To stay on the A 28, the triangle must be crossed in both directions ( TOTSO ).
Traffic volume
The triangle is used by around 75,000 vehicles every day.
