Pitchshifter is an English band from Nottingham , which was founded in 1989 under the name "Pitch Shifter" and consists of the members Johnny A. Carter (lead guitar, programming), Mark Clayden (bass, vocals), Stuart Toolin (rhythm guitar) and Jon S. Clayden (backing vocals).

She pioneered the connection between guitar-heavy and electronic music, especially metal and punk on the one hand and drum and bass on the other. Furthermore, Pitchshifter is known for her socially critical texts as well as for her remixes .
