The Plötz in January 2017

description

The Rettenbach has cut deep here from the Hinterschroffenau plateau and digs through a gorge about half a kilometer long. There it forms a waterfall and numerous pools (whirlpool holes) over which the 50 meter high fall pours in several cascades and then falls freely 25 meters into a charming pool at the end. The Plötz is known as a natural bath .

A hiking trail opens up from the Plötz car park (Gasthaus Schroffengut, Wiestalstrasse L 107) at the Waschlmühle (walking time 15 minutes) and is part of the Ebenauer Mühlenwanderweg (path no. 61).
