Plagiodial is a monocyclic mono terpene with two aldehyde groups , which belongs to the group of iridoids . It has three stereocenters, so theoretically there are eight different stereoisomeric forms. Plagiodial and its stereoisomers are found in the defense secretions of some species of beetles .
