history

Today's street is the eastern part of Kleine Strasse (platea minor). In the Middle Ages, the town courtyard of the Zinna Monastery was located here , which gave the area a special status until 1839. From 1478 to 1800 the council stables with the city bull stalls were located in the street . Breeding bulls and horses for messengers were housed here. The women's shelter (the city brothel ) was located at number 56 - 59 in the Middle Ages. The post office was on property number 43. From here the routes to Berlin, Cottbus and Dresden were served.

In 1979 the roadway was renewed, the avenue trees were felled and not replaced. The townscape was also affected by the demolition of houses, such as houses 2–4, 43 and 60. Some of the gaps have not yet been closed.

Houses

The houses Planeberg 1, 5 and 6 are residential houses. Number 1 was created in 1801, number 5 in 1870 and number 6 in 1875. House number 1 was renovated, and today there is a day-care center here. House number 5 has an elaborate facade of late classicism .

The city courtyard of the Zinna monastery is at number 9. The beginning of the abbey courtyard was probably around 1285, 1365 it is mentioned for the first time. In 1478, after the Jüterbog city fire, the courtyard was given its present shape. From 1954 the Jüterbog City Museum was located in the building; today the museum is located in the monastery.

There are other 18th and 19th century houses on the street that are listed. House number 36 is particularly striking. It is a half-timbered house with an elaborate facade. House Planeberg 71 is a youth home. It was built in 1898 as a youth home for the Protestant church.
