The Platzberg is 116 m above sea level. NHN the third highest elevation in the district of Jerichower Land in Saxony-Anhalt .
Location and surroundings
It is located in the central part of the Altengrabow military training area and just under six kilometers north of the Schweinitz district of the unified municipality of Möckern , where this part of the Bundeswehr's training area is located.
Its flat mountain top is not forested, mostly covered with large dwarf shrub heaths and the entire area is part of the 3742 hectare Altengrabower Heide bird sanctuary , which includes almost the entire military training area.
The height lies on the watershed line running east-west between the Havel in the north and the Elbe in the south. It belongs to the western Fläming plateau , a heather and grass-rich forest landscape in the north German lowlands. Belonging to the northern reaches of space mountain and district Schweinitz, the headwaters is there of Gloinebaches .
