Geographical location

Platzfelde is located about five kilometers southwest of the town center of Bad Freienwalde (Oder) and about two and a half kilometers southeast of Dannenberg / Mark, directly at the intersection of the B 158 and the L 35.

history

In the 13th and 14th centuries, the village of Torgelow (or in the older documents called Torgow) stood at the point where the place Platzfelde emerged in the years around and after 1890. It fell desolate as early as the first half of the 14th century. it is no longer mentioned in the land register of 1375 . The reasons for the desert fall are not known. The village was already desolate when it was first mentioned in 1422, and the Feldmark belonged to the von Uchtenhagen family . Half of the field mark was given to von Pfuel as an after-fief at that time. The von Uchtenhagen were enfeoffed by the Brandenburg margrave with the small rule of Freienwalde; the rule of Freienwalde also included Torgelow (or Torgow). In 1471 Hans von Pfuel renounced the half desert Feldmark Torgelow in favor of his cousins Christoph and Wilhelm von Pfuel with the consent of the sovereign. In 1477 the von Pfuel people sold their half of the desert field to the city of Freienwalde for 50 shock groschen. In turn her direct fiefdom, Caspar von Uchtenhagen, gave his consent. In 1575 a partition agreement was drawn up between Hans and Werner von Uchtenhagen on the one hand and the city of Freienwalde on the other. Hans and Werner von Uchtenhagen kept the north-western half of the Feldmark, the city of Freienwalde the south-eastern half.

On the Uchtenhagen half, the Torgelow Vorwerk was built in the second half of the 16th century, from which today's Torgelow developed. In the half that belonged to the city of Freienwalde, the Vorwerk Platz was built at the end of the 17th century , which was not rebuilt after a fire in 1890.

The desert village of Torgelow itself (at the intersection of today's B 158 and L 36) was initially not repopulated. Only in the Schmettauschen map from 1767/87 is a Schinderkate recorded at the location of the old village of Torgelow or the later place where Platzfelde lived . However, it must have been entered again some time later, because in the Urmes table sheet No. 3249 Heckelberg from 1844 no building is recorded at this point. At the beginning of the 19th century, the expansion of the old military route from Berlin to Freienwalde into an art route began. The section from Wriezen to Freienwalde was completed by 1820.

The expansion of the Chaussee from Niederfinow via Cöthen, Dannenberg to Berlin-Freienwalder Provinzial-Chaussee , today's L 35, was started shortly before 1884. In 1884, a little north of the junction of this street from the Berlin-Freienwalder Provinzial-Chaussee (= B 158) a road house was built, where the road toll was collected. The present-day place Platzfelde developed from this. However, the border between the estate districts of Torgelow and Haselberg went through Platzfelde. While the Chausseehaus belonged to the Torgelow estate, the house directly at the intersection of B 158 / L 35 belonged to the Haselberg estate. In the 1941 edition of Topographical Sheet 3239 Heckelberg, the Chausseehaus is referred to as a forestry department.

In 1932 and 1957, Platzfelde was a residential area of the Dannenberg (Mark) community. 1964 and 1973 Platzfelde was designated as a district of Dannenberg / Mark. In 2001 Falkenberg / Mark, Dannenberg / Mark and Kruge / Gersdorf merged to form the new municipality of Falkenberg. Dannenberg / Mark now became a district of the Falkenberg community, Platzfelde an inhabited district of Dannenberg / Mark.
