Cuesta Blanca is a place in central Argentina , 10 km southwest of the city of Villa Carlos Paz (Province of Cordoba ). It is located on the Río San Antonio , which is dammed at the southwest end to the small reservoir Cuesta Blanca .

The place is characterized by tourism and has only a few permanent residents. However, it is growing very rapidly in terms of population: by 77.5% between 1991 and 2001.

Playa de los Hippies

The Playa de los Hippies , also (incorrectly, because the river has no bay) known as Bahía de los Hippies , is a beach on the Río San Antonio , which is about 2 km south of the village.

Since this place was cut off from the outside world for a long time because of its location behind two mountains , around a hundred dropouts persecuted by the Argentine military regime sought refuge here during the military dictatorship that the country went through between 1976 and 1982 . They lived largely undisturbed in the caves that were formed there by the river, and some have remained to this day. Today, the place is a popular destination for hikers, mainly because of the good bathing opportunities and its beautiful location, ready for a film.
