Plomari ( Greek Πλωμάρι ) is a municipality in the municipality of Mytilene on the Greek island of Lesbos . The municipality extends in the south of the island over an area of 122.452 km². It has 5602 inhabitants (2011) and is divided into a city district and seven local communities. Adjacent municipal districts are Polichnitos in the west , Agiasos in the north and Gera in the east .

Administrative division

The municipality of Plomari emerged in 2011 from the municipality of the same name, which was founded on the occasion of the territorial reform in 1997 from the former municipality and six other rural communities. Since the correction of the administrative reform in 2019, Plomari has belonged to the municipality of Mytilene .
