The Plomb du Cantal is at an altitude of 1855 m the highest peak in the Cantal department and the mountain range of the Monts du Cantal in France . It is located in the volcanic Auvergne .
literature
A cave on this mountain is in the novel Perfume by Patrick Suskind for seven years to shelter the main character Jean-Baptiste Grenouille .
tourism
The Super Lioran ski station is located below the summit . From here a cabin cable car leads close to the summit. The most common starting point for a hike up the mountain is the Col de Prat de Bouc ( 1396 m ) in the east of the mountain, where there is ample parking.
