The Tyrrhenian wall lizard ( Podarcis tiliguerta ) is a species of lizard from the genus of wall lizards that is endemic to Corsica , Sardinia and the offshore islands .

The Tyrrhenian wall lizard reaches a total length of 20 to 25 centimeters. Their body reaches up to 6.5 centimeters and their tail about twice that length. Her back is usually greenish-brown with a vertical band of spots and her throat is spotted black. Their upper side is variable, but mostly they are gray to gray-brown. The males are greenish with light back stripes and black spots. Often they also have a vertical stripe or a mesh pattern. They have dark, black spotted and z. Sometimes also individual blue spots. They also have a whitish, yellowish, orange or red belly. The upper temple signs are curved on the top of the head.

habitat

You can only find them on Corsica, Sardinia and the offshore islands. There they live in the flat and mountainous regions up to an altitude of about 1800 meters. They live there mainly in dry, stony, z. Sometimes overgrown mountain slopes or roadsides.

Reproduction

The lizards mate in April after five to six months of hibernation and lay around six to 12 eggs.
