history

Entrance to the Podbi Park

In 1974 Bahlsen outsourced the head office, and in 1987 also the last production facility in larger buildings. From 1990 Werner Michael Bahlsen , the grandson of the company founder, had the parent company extensively rebuilt and given a glass roof. In 1995 the complex was expanded by the company Böge Lindner K2 Architects to include the round building of a four-star hotel, which was awarded a prize by the Association of German Architects of Lower Saxony in 1997 for its successful integration into the ensemble .

In 2000, the conversion of the site into a modern service and business complex was completed with the opening of the shopping mall. In the same year, the Bahlsen corporate headquarters moved back into its parent company. In 2006 the traditional company opened a factory shop. After bankruptcy, the complex was placed under forced administration by the Hanover District Court in 2007 . In May 2014, Accom-Immobilien-Holding (AIH) bought the property from Munich-based investor Constantin Sepmeier and announced modernizations and investments totaling eight million euros. At the same time, the AIH bought the Luise Gallery in the city center.

In addition to a branch office of the Hanover city administration, the List Citizens Registration Office, the building complex also houses a district library and the Hanover software developer HaCon .
