The Jasło Mountains (Polish: Pogórze Jasielskie ) consist of foothills of the Central Beskid Foothills in southern Poland in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship . Its highest peak is 430 m.

geography

The mountains are bordered by the Buków Mountains to the east, the Lower Beskids to the south and the Gorlice Basin and the Jasło-Krosno Basin to the north . It is located on the Wisłok , Bednarka and Jasiołka rivers to the east.

The mountains are divided into several ridges.

history

After 1340, Casimir the Great settled the forest German . In addition to the Polonized Forest Germans , Dolinianie , Lemken and Wallachians also lived in the mountains .

The Jasło Mountains, together with the surrounding areas, are the oldest oil production areas in the world. The Museum of the Oil and Gas Industry in Bóbrka is located in Bóbrka , where the world's oldest oil derrick is located .

The eponymous Jasło is located on the northern edge of the mountains
