The Polaris Glacier is a 6 km long glacier on the Nordenskjöld coast in the east of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows south from the Detroit Plateau between the Pyke and Eliason Glaciers to Larsen Inlet .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out surveys between 1960 and 1961. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1964 after a snowmobile made by the US company Polaris Industries , which has been in use in Antarctica since the 1960s .
