The Pyke Glacier is an 8 km long glacier on the Nordenskjöld coast in the east of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows south from the Detroit Plateau between the Albone and Polaris glaciers to Larsen Inlet .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out surveys between 1960 and 1961. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1964 after the British scientist Geoffrey Nathaniel Pyke (1894-1948), who laid the foundations for the development of the M29 Weasel in 1941 , the first truly successful tracked vehicle for use in polar regions.
