The Polarsirkelbukta ( Norwegian for Arctic Circle Bay ) is a small ice harbor off the Princess Martha coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . The bay lies on the edge of the Fimbul Ice Shelf .
Norwegian scientists named it after the polar research ship Polarsirkel , which had been in service on various Norwegian trips to the Antarctic since the mid-1950s.
