Police station
A police station is an organizationally independent authority within a police force. This is due to the fact that these departments often have different areas of responsibility (administration, representation, closed operations, no or only limited processing with citizen contact / external impact) than, for example, a police inspection and therefore do not come into direct contact with citizens.
A police station has a size of between 60 and over 100 employees, depending on its area of responsibility, location and federal state. The head of a police station is, depending on its size, a senior civil servant or - in most cases - a senior civil servant .
The superior department depends on the organizational structure of the respective police. Usually there is a three or four-level system: Police Inspection (or Station) / Police Station - Police Headquarters - Police Headquarters - Ministry of the Interior (hierarchy from bottom to top).
Administrative offices which, depending on the federal state, deal with the administration of staff or the punishment of traffic offenses, for example, are not police stations in the original sense . Advertisements or search notices that are posted to an internet security station are automatically forwarded to the relevant department - so there is no independent police station behind the internet security station either.
