The Polo Players' Association and Instructors' is the name of the World Association of Polo -Ausbilder and poker players. The organization can be compared to the Association of Tennis Professionals or the Professional Golfers Association and is abbreviated to PIPA. PIPA is a member of the “Regional Association for Riding and Driving in Vienna” and is therefore linked to the International Federation of Equestrian Sports .

tasks and goals

The main focus of PIPA is to make polo accessible to a broad mass and to establish polo as a trend sport. In order to achieve these goals, PIPA establishes and develops polo schools and academies around the world or enables existing schools to form partnerships. Only PIPA-licensed trainers are allowed to teach in these schools and academies. This PIPA licensing ensures that trainers are always up to date in terms of training methods and technical standards.

PIPA also organizes the world's largest snow and beach polo tours:

  • the PIPA Snow Polo World Cup Tour
  • the PIPA Beach Polo World Series

organization

PIPA, which is based in Vienna , is headed by the following international board:

Executive Board
  • President: Uwe Seebacher (Vienna)
  • Executive Vice President: Cacho Merlos (Argentina)
  • Vice President Horse Management: Yvonne Halden (Austria)
  • Vice President Marketing & Sponsoring: Thomas Hofirek (Vienna)
  • Vice President Women: Sarah Woods (England)
  • Sports Director: Augusto Faria Correa (Porto Alegre)
  • Secretary: Bruno Seebacher (Graz)
  • Control Committee: Christa Heissl (Vienna)

PIPA World Championships

In cooperation with A Quechua World of Polo , PIPA organizes snow and beach polo world championships every year. These are each played out in a tour with several events in different countries. Snow polo events, for example, have already taken place in the Munich Olympic Stadium in front of 15,000 spectators or in Bad Gastein or Seefeld in Tyrol . The largest beach polo event to date was held in Lignano Sabbiadoro in the world's largest beach polo stadium. As the world's largest polo tournament series, the PIPA Snow World Cup Tour and the PIPA Beach Polo World Series receive a lot of media attention; from both equestrian and sports media. The PIPA events are the most popular polo events in the world. For example, the events of the 2015 Snow Polo World Cup Tour were reported in the equestrian magazine “Reitsportnews” and in the blog of the Olympic region of Seefeld. Even the ORF reported on the event in Bad Gastein.
