Polyblend
As a polyblend or polymer blend refers to mixtures of two or more different polymers . The properties of the resulting plastics differ significantly from those of the original polymers . With this purely physical mixture, no new chemical bonds are created between the macromolecules .
recognition
Polyblends are identified in the abbreviation by a “ + ” placed between the components . In contrast, sequential letter sequences are used in copolymers .
Classification
- Miscible polymer blends are homogeneous mixtures of compatible polymers, such as. B. polyamide 6 (PA6) and polyamide 10 (PA10).
- Compatible polymer blends are mixtures of partially or partially compatible polymers, such as. B. polystyrene (PS) and polyphenylene ether (PPE).
- Immiscible polymer blends are heterogeneous mixtures of incompatible polymers (multiphase mixtures), such as. B. polystyrene (PS) or styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer with rubber .
