Polyxo (wife of Tlepolemus)
Polyxo ( Greek Πολυξώ ) is in Greek mythology a relative of the beautiful Helena , who came from Argos , and was first her friend. But after Polyxo's husband, Heracles's son Tlepolemus , had died in the Trojan War , she later had Helena, who had fled to her in Rhodes , hang it from a tree by maidservants disguised as Erinyes , as she blamed her for the war. This was given as the reason for the cult of Helena Dendritis on Rhodes.
At Polyainos , Helena is saved by Menelaus , who instead delivers a slave disguised as Helena.
