The Pont de Bezons , originally called Pont Jacques-Boulloche , is a road bridge over the Seine that connects the Paris suburb of Bezons on the right bank in the Val-d'Oise department with Colombes and Nanterre in the Hauts-de-Seine department on the left bank.
description
The six-lane bridge leads the départementales D392 and D992 over the Seine. In 2009, two independent pedestrian bridges were added to the outside in order to be able to install two tracks for line 2 of the Paris tram in the middle of the bridge and at the same time to maintain the number of lanes.
The reinforced concrete bridge designed by Albert Caquot and built between 1947 and 1953 is 205 m long and 25 m wide. Before the conversion for the tram, it had an 18 m wide carriageway and 3.4 m wide sidewalks. It consists of four parallel, strongly haunched hollow boxes . It has two piers with pillar spacing of 55 + 95 + 55 m.
During the renovation for the tram, which was completed in 2009, the pillars were lengthened and a slender steel box girder was placed on both sides, following the arched profile of the bridge. It supports a longitudinal beam with a few posts or merges with it at the apex of the arch. A thin concrete slab forms the basis for the walkway and bicycle path. With these additions, the bridge was widened to a total of 34 m. The tram now has its own track in the middle; the car traffic was moved one lane further to the edge. Pedestrians and cyclists use their own bridge protected by railings on both sides.
