Poom Jensen (also: Bhumi Jensen ) (born August 16, 1983 in San Bernardino , California (USA), † December 26, 2004 in Khao Lak , Thailand ) was a grandson of the Thai king Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX.).

Poom was the son of Princess Ubol Ratana , the eldest daughter of the Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and the American businessman Peter Jensen. His mother had married the American while studying in the USA in 1972 and lost her princess status as a result. Poom did not have a prince title either, just the courtesy title Khun . As the only male grandson of the reigning king born in wedlock at the time, Poom played a role in the line of succession for a long time.

The family lived in San Diego County , California, where Poom attended Torrey Pines High School . He suffered from autism . Due to the intensive care of his parents, his condition improved over the years. His parents' marriage divorced in 1998. After Poom graduated from high school and his mother won a custody battle with the father, she returned to Thailand with two daughters and Poom in 2001. There he took part in a special program for autistic people at the demonstration school at Kasetsart University in Bangkok . He then started studying at the Faculty of Education at Kasetsart University. Through him, awareness and education about the disease autism grew in Thailand.
