Pop is a city in the Uzbek province of Namangan in the Fergana Valley and the capital of the district of the same name .
The city is located in the west of the Namangan Province about 50 km west of the provincial capital Namangan and about 30 km from the border with Tajikistan . In Pop, the Angren – Pop line of the Uzbek Railways ( Oʻzbekiston Temir Yoʻllari ) meets the Qoʻqon –Namangan line. Through the city flows the Northern Ferghanakanal about 3 km south of it runs the Syr Darya .
In 1980 Pop was granted town charter. According to the 1989 population census, the city had 15,766 inhabitants, according to a calculation for 2010 the population was 23,524.
