The Poratz , also Poratz-See , is a small inland lake in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . The lake is located in Western Pomerania , about 90 km northeast of Stettin and about 28 km south of Kołobrzeg (Kolberg) , at an altitude of 49.9 m above sea level . Today it is located in the municipality of Gmina Sławoborze (rural municipality Stolzenberg) .
The land route from Schleps to Rogzow passed the lake . There were haunted stories around the lake. Johannes Courtois wrote in his work Der Kolberg-Körliner Kreis in 1909 :
“No good man from Schleps passed by the Poratz, a small pond on the way to Rogzow, in the late evening hour without compelling reasons, because there should have been a number of nocturnal spooks pawed there. This alleged ghost was associated with the Poratz saga, according to which a child with a cradle drowned in the still water of the pond when a family was moving. The desperate mother then cursed the insidious water that stole her loved one: The Poratz should grow up to the size of a cradle. In fact, the Poratz is losing area from year to year. "
