Pori ( Greek Πόροι ( m. Pl. )) Is a local community ( Τοπική Κοινότητα Πόρων Topikí Kinótita Póron ) in the municipality of Dion-Olymbos in the Greek region of Central Macedonia . It is formed from the coastal town of Nei Pori on the Thermaic Gulf and the hamlets of Pori and Agios Dimitrios.

location

Pori is the southernmost local community in the municipality of Dion-Olymbos . In the south it borders on the municipality of Tembi in the Thessaly region , where a silted branch of the Pinios Delta forms the border near the coast. Platamonas borders in the north and Skotina in the hinterland .

The main tourist town of Nei Pori is located between the OSE railway line in the south and the Thermaic Gulf. The development merges into the neighboring Platamonas in the northwest without any recognizable border. About 1.5 km in the hinterland of Platamonas is south of the national road 1 Agios Dimitrios, the old place Pori about 5.5 km west at about 500 m altitude.

Administrative division

The rural community of Pourlias ( Κοινότητα Πούρλια Kinótita Poúrlia ) was founded in 1924 when it separated from Platamonas. The name was changed to Pori in 1926. By separating from the Thessaloniki prefecture , Pori came to the newly founded Pieria prefecture in 1949 . The hamlet of Agios Dimitrios was recognized as a settlement in 1971 and the coastal town of Nei Pori in 1981. This became the administrative seat of the rural community from 1988 onwards. After the municipal reform in 1997 , Pori was merged with four other rural communities to form the municipality of Anatolikos Olymbos . On the occasion of the administrative reform in 2010, this in turn became part of the newly created municipality of Dion-Olymbos . Since then, Pori has had the status of a local community.
